Lesa is a Certified Social Worker. She has a Bachelors of Social Work and a Master's of Social Work from Utah Valley University. Lesa is Native American and grew up on her Reservation in Canada. She lived with a foster family from 3rd-12th grade while she attended school in another province. She spent every summer break with her family on the Reservation.
Lesa has experience working with substance abuse, survivors of domestic violence, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and eating disorders. She has volunteered her time working with youth and with victims of sexual assault. Lesa received special recognition during her undergraduate program for her non-judgmental approach to helping others. She has a unique perspective as a former foster child and has a deep understanding of minority issues. Lesa also has personal experience with family and friends regarding sexuality, intimacy issues, and suicidal ideation. She is passionate about helping people to explore and navigate their problems in a healthy and positive direction. Lesa utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and the Gottman method.
Lesa has lived in Utah County for the past 27 years and loves to hike, bike, or snowshoe to get out to enjoy the beautiful outdoors whenever possible. Lesa has been married for 34 years and also loves being a mom.
